№ 00 — The studio

Two ways of making a place feel like yours.

BT’s started in a sitting room in Ikoyi, between a stack of cane chairs being re-strung and a small batch of perfume oils on the kitchen counter. We never decided which we’d be. So we became both.

№ 01 — Fragrance

A small library, numbered.

We blend in small batches and bottle by hand. The library is short on purpose: one composition for the bright, clean opening of a day; one for the quiet that settles in the late evening. Each is dated, numbered, and revisited only when the materials and the moment ask for it.

№ 02 — Interiors

Furniture, considered.

We work with iroko, obeche, cane, brass, lokta paper, hand-loomed cotton. Some pieces we make. Some we source from designers we know. For the full design service we sit in your room and listen first; the mood-board comes later, after we’ve looked at the light.

What we believe

A room you’ve thought about smells different. Not louder. Just more like you.

  • Made small.

Batches are short and revisited often. We’d rather make 40 of something we’re proud of than 4,000 we’re not.

  • Made local.

Materials and makers from across Nigeria, named where we can. Lagos at the centre, but reaching further when a piece calls for it.

  • Made to keep.

We design things that should outlast us. If a chair’s seat sags in twenty years, write to us — we’ll re-string it.

  • Made to be answered.

Every order is read by a person. Reply to any of our notes and you’ll hear back the same week.

The studio

We’re on Akin Adesola in Victoria Island, by appointment. The room is small, lit, and full of things in progress. Come if you’d like to smell the library, sit in a chair before you order it, or just talk through a project.
